Back to School Necessities

School has started for some people and hasn't for others. I however started my third year of university two weeks ago and have been wanting to write a post on what are the school necessities.  Some people like to wear a full face of makeup, others wear the minimal, and others wear nothing.  This is just my take on what I think is school appropriate.

La escuela ha comenzado para algunas personas y para otros aun no a comenzado. Sin embargo yo empecé mi tercer año de universidad dos semanas atrás y desde ese entonces tenía ganas de escribir un post sobre lo que son las necesidades de belleza para la escuela. Algunas personas les gusta utilizar un maquillaje completo, otros usan lo mínimo y otros llevan nada. Esto es sólo mi opinión sobre lo que creo que es apropiada para la escuela.

1. Concealer is a must for those days where you're under eye bags are huge.  I've been using the Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles (Brightener).
2. You can choose to wear foundation or wear nothing.  I personally like to wear mineral foundation since its very light yet still covers up my imperfections.  I like wearing the L'oreal True Match Naturale Gentle Mineral Makeup.
3. You're going to want to keep those eyebrows looking clean looking so you might want to invest in an eyebrow pencil.  I've had a couple of pencils and currently I'm using the Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil.

1. El corrector es una necesidad para aquellos días en los que las bolsas de los ojos están enormes. He estado usando el Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles (Brightener).
2. Usted puede optar por usar base o no llevar nada. Personalmente, me gusta usar una base mineral ya que es muy liviano pero todavía cubre mis imperfecciones. Me gusta usar el L'oreal True Match Naturale Gentle Mineral Makeup.
3. Vas a querer mantener sus cejas limpio así que seria bueno si invertirías en un lápiz de cejas. He tenido par de lápices para las cejas y actualmente estoy usando la Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil.

1. A must for any type of day is mascara; I never leave the house without it.  My all-time favorite is the L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black.
2. A very simple trio that never looks over powering but still has wonderful pigmentation is Wet n Wild's Sweet as Candy.
3. The very first item of makeup I ever wore was eyeliner and I consider it a must have.  The one I've been currently wearing is the Soft Kohl Kajal Liner Pencil from Rimmel.

1. Lo mas esencial para cualquier día no importa para donde uno valla es máscara, ya que yo nunca salgo de casa sin él. Mi favorito es el L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black.
2. Un trío muy sencillo que nunca se ve demasiado pero a la misma vez tiene una pigmentación maravillosa es el Sweet as Candy de Wet n Wild. 
3. El primer artículo de maquillaje que utilice era un delineador de ojos y lo considero esencial. El que yo he estado usando actualmente es el Soft Kohl Kajal Liner Pencil de Rimmel.

1. A blush is also a must since it brightens up any look.  I choose the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes because they are very easy to use and all you need it your fingers to apply.
2. Now some people might go all out with lipsticks and lip stains, but I went with a simple lip balm since it is school and you don't want to look over done. My favorite lip balms are the EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere.

1. Un rubor es también un esencial ya que ilumina cualquier look. Escogí los rubores Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes porque son muy fácil de usar y todo el que lo necesite son sus dedos para la aplicación.
2. Algunas personas se ponen lápices labiales y lipstains para la escuela, pero prefiero utilizar un producto para condicionamiento de los labios. Ya que es la escuela y no quieres verte con demasiado de maquillaje puesto. Mis productos favoritos para el condicionamiento de los labios son los EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere.

You can obviously add or take away products as you feel fit this was just what I think are the essentials for school.  You can use this if you are in high school, college or even working, it is very versatile and would look good for whatever scenario as long as it's not prom, ha ha!  Well this concludes what I think are the necessities, hope you all have a great school year and fulfill your goal as well!

What's in my makeup bag?

This seems like a very popular post here in the Beauty Blog world so I thought, why not hop on?  I don't carry a lot of beauty items with me daily, but I do have a couple of things that might help you.

Este parece ser un "post" muy popular aquí en el mundo de los blog de belleza así que pensé, ¿por qué no seguir la corriente? Yo no llevo conmigo muchos artículos de belleza a diario pero tengo algunos productos que si llevo conmigo que le pueden ayudar.

This is the makeup bag that I use on a daily bases which I received from Sigma and you might have seen it in an old post: How have I been applying my Foundation lately?

Esta es la bolsa de maquillaje que uso diariamente que recibí de Sigma y es posible que la haya visto en un post anterior: ¿Cómo he estado aplicando mi Fundación últimamente?

I always have with me/ Lo que siempre tengo conmigo:

• My blotting powder which happens to be the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder/ Mi polvo con un acabado mate para no lucir luminosa, Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
• A powder brush/ una brocha para usarlo con polvo
• The lip product I choose that day and maybe an extra if I want to change it/ El producto que decido usar para ese día y uno adicionar por si acaso lo quiero cambiar
• A lip balm, usually my EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere in Sweet Mint/ una acondicionador para los labios que usualmente es EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere en Sweet Mint.
• Some bobby pins/ unos pinches
• A hair tie/ Una goma para el pelo

It may not be a lot of things or maybe it's a lot compared to what you may be carrying but this is the perfect amount of items for me.  Maybe I will add something else every so often but these are my essentials.

Quick Tip: If the powder you use every day breaks but you still want to use it and take it places just put it in a Zip Lock baggy.

EOS Every Day Hand Lotion

As most of you know I love EOS to death and anytime I see something new and/or I have the money to get any of their products and buy them since all of their products are so good.  My most recent item that I got from them is the Every Day Hand Lotion which I received as a birthday present from my awesome housemate. <3 Now I have never been the hand lotion type of girl but I must say that this product motivates me to remember to use it since it has the most lovely texture to it.  It's almost as if it leaves a powder yet hydrating feel to it.

Mi artículo más reciente que tengo de ellos es la Every Day Hand Lotion que me regalo mi campanera de apartamento maravillosa para mi cumpleaños. <3 Ahora, nunca he sido la muchacha que se adjunta crema de manos durante el día, pero debo decir que este producto me motiva a recordar que lo debo de usar ya que tiene una textura maravillosa. The EOS hand creams are 97% natural; they are enriched with Shea Butter, antioxidants, Vitamin E and C, and Oat extract.  None of them contain Dyes, Paraben, Lanolin, or Phthalate.  They are suitable for all skin types and are Hypoallergenic and are Dermatologist tested.  There are 2 other scents: Everyday Hand Lotion- Cucumber and Everyday Hand Lotion- Berry Blossom.  It retails for around $3.99 at drugstores.

EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere Review

This has been a post that I've been meaning to write for a while but never got to doing so.  Most likely you have seen this at your local Walgreens and wondered what the heck that is?!  Well this egg shaped object is the EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere and it is my all-time favorite lip conditioning product.

Este ha sido una reseña que he estado queriendo escribir por un tiempo, pero nunca llegue a hacerlo. Lo más probable es que usted ha visto esto en sus tiendas locales de Walgreens y se a preguntó ¿qué diablos es eso? Bueno, este objeto con forma de huevo es el EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere y es mi producto favorito para condicionamiento de los labios.

Sweet Mint and Strawberry Sorbet

The EOS lip balms are 95% organic and 100% natural; they are enriched with Shea Butter, antioxidant-rich vitamin E, and jojoba oil.  None of these contain Gluten, Paraben, Petrolatum or Phthalate. These are wonderful and they last a long time on your lips as well.  I like to apply this right before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning. It also acts as a wonderful lip primer underneath lipstick. There are 6 flavors: Sweet Mint, Strawberry Sorbet, Lemon Drop, Summer Fruit, Honeysuckle Honeydew, and Medicated Tangerine.  Personally I have only tried the first 5 and they all are true to the name and smell great.  I have never seen the last one in Puerto Rico, but trust me I'm on the hunt.  It retails for around $3.29 at drugstores.

May Favorites (2012)

This month has been a hectic and stressful one since I finished my second year of college one week ago and it is also prom and graduation session so I've been using more products than usual.  A couple of products have been the same but some are new and have been getting a lot of use out of them.  I think the type of products I've loved this month is highlighter, as you will see later in this post.

Este mes ha sido un uno agitadora y agotadora ya que terminé mi segundo año de la universidad hace una semana y también es la época de baile de graduación y de graduaciones, así que he estado utilizando mas productos que  lo normal. Algunos de los productos son los mismos del mes pasado, pero algunos son nuevos y los he estado usando en cantidad. Creo que el tipo de producto que he estado utilizando mucho es "highligter", como se verá más adelante en esta reseña.

EOS Shave Cream

I have a couple of the EOS (Evolution of Smooth) products and I really love them, especially their lip balms, so I thought I would give their shaving cream a go.  Now this isn't your ordinary shaving cream because well it is literally a cream, not the foam that we're used to.  It goes on like a cream/lotion and it doesn't lather up.  At first I was sceptical since I was so used to the gel format and I wasn't seeing any foam that it wasn't going to be moisturizing.  I actually like this a lot since it is in a cream form it is really moisturizing and leaves my legs super smooth.  The scent I have is Pomegranate Rasberry which smells amazing! It's very fruity and sweet.

Tengo unos cuantos productos de la compania EOS (Evolution of Smooth) los cuales me encantan, sobre todo sus "lip balms".  Entonces pensé que le daría la a crema de afeitar una oportunidad. Ahora bien, este no es tu crema de afeitar ordinaria, porque literalmente es una crema, no la espuma que estamos acostumbrados a ver. Cuando la aplicas vas a ver que sale como una crema / loción y no hace espuma. Al principio yo estaba escéptica ya que estaba tan acostumbrada al formato gel y no veía la espuma como hidratante. En realidad me gusta mucho ya que es en forma de crema y realmente hidrata y deja las piernas super suave. ¡El olor que tengo es Pomegranate Rasberry que huele increíble!  Tiene un aroma dulce y a frutas.

One thing I really like about the product is the packaging. It's really convenient to have the pump and the bottle is ergonomic. It claims that you can use this wet or dry but I only shave in the shower so I can't really say if it works or not. It is paraben-free and phthalate-free and has natural aloe, oat, shea butter, and antioxidant vitamins E & C. It also comes in Lavender Jasmine, Vanilla Bliss, and Sensitive-fragrance free. It retails for around $3.99 at drugstores.

Una cosa que realmente me gusta sobre el producto es el envase. Es realmente conveniente tener la bomba y la botella es ergonómica. Reclama que se puede utilizar mojado o seco pero yo sólo me afeito en la ducha así que no puedo decir si funciona o no sin agua. No tiene parabenos ni ftalato y cuenta con aloe natural, avena, manteca de karité y vitaminas antioxidantes E y C. También viene en Lavender Jasmine, Vanilla Bliss y sensibles a las fragancias libre. Se vende por alrededor de $3.99 en las farmacias.
