2012 Fall Nail Polish Trends

Fall is creeping upon us soon and it's time for my 2012 Fall Nail Polish Trends post!  Fall is usually characterized by dark colors that are unique in their own way. I went with the same idea but added some fun colors that still have the fall "vibe".

Otoño se esta acercando pronto y es tiempo para el 2012 Fall Nail Polish Trends! Otoño se caracteriza generalmente por los colores oscuros los cuales son únicos. Mantuve esa idea en mente cuando estaba escogiendo cuales seria ideal para este post pero siempre añadí algunos colores divertidos que aún mantienen el "vibe" de otoño.

1. China Glaze- Harvest Moon (this color is AMAZING!!! Looks great on the nails and really embodies fall for me) Foil Finish
2. Bettina- 28 (This was one of my first polishes from Bettina and I still love it.  This is a duochrome polish so it has two different colors: a beautiful shimmery purple and a subtle bronze.)  Shimmer Finish
3. O.P.I- Midnight in Moscow (This is a dark maroon color that is very vampy) Shimmer Finish

NOTD- Ocean and Luxe and Lush

Today's Nail of the Day features Ocean by Bettina from their Nature collection and Luxe and Lush by China Glaze from their Hunger Games collection.  Ocean has been one of my favorite blues lately and I'm pretty sure it's because it's more of a summer color so I wanted to rock it but with a twist.  The best part about this mani is that Luxe and Lush only cost me $3.29!

El "Nail of the Day" es Ocean de Bettina de su colección Nature y Luxe y Lush de China Glaze de su colección de Hunger Games. Ocean ha sido uno de mis azules favoritos últimamente y estoy bastante segura de que es porque es un color de verano así que quería ponérmelo pero con un toque diferente. ¡La mejor parte acerca de esta mani es que Luxe y Lush sólo me costó $3.29!

Just like all Bettina polishes it goes on opaque with 2 coats and isn't streaky at all. Now Luxe and Lush has to be my new favorite accent polish since it can spice any polish up. It has a cream finish and dry time is decent. Now you can't really tell so much in the pictures but check out Nail Polish Anon, she really captured the different shades.  It really all depends on the color base you use.  Example, if you use a black you will get a variety of different colors such as blue, green, and even red, but on softer colors the color range will be much subtle. All Bettina polishes retail for around $2.50 and China Glaze for around $6.49.

Al igual que todos los esmaltes de Bettina con dos capas es suficiente y no tiene una apariencia rayada. Tiene un acabado en crema y el tiempo de secado es decente.  Ahora Luxe y Lush tiene que ser mi esmalte de utilizo como acento nueva favorita ya que puede darle vida a cualquier esmalte. Ahora realmente no se puede apreciar mucho en las fotos pero echa un vistazo a Nail Polish Anon, que realmente capturó a los diferentes tonos. En realidad, todo depende de la base de color que utiliza. Ejemplo, si usted utiliza un negro obtendrá una variedad de diferentes colores como azul, verde e incluso rojo, pero en colores más suaves de la gama de colores va a ser mucho más sutil. Todos esmaltes Bettina cuestan alrededor de $2.50 y China Glaze por alrededor de $6.49.

2012 Summer Nail Polish Trends

Since I had such a good response with my 2012 Spring Nail Polish Trends and that it is officially summer it’s time for my 2012 Summer Nail Polish Trends post.  As usual summer is about bright and fun colors but there are also just some colors which I haven't been able to put down.

NOTD- Rose Inspired

A couple weeks back I was watching some YouTube videos and came across Arose186 nail tutorial on how to make this nail design.  Now I am not by any means good at nail art but when I saw the video I knew it was simple and that it was up my alley. Plus, it came out so gorgeous on her that I couldn't resist.  Now I modified it a bit to my taste, but it still came out awesome.  All you need is two polishes and you're good, I chose Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Coral Reef and Bettina in #45.

Hace unas semanas atrás estaba viendo algunos videos de YouTube y me encontré con el tutorial de uñas de Arose186 sobre cómo hacer que este diseño de uñas. No soy buena para nada en haciendo diseños de arte de uñas, pero cuando vi el video yo sabía que era simple y que era algo que yo podía hacer. Además, a ella le quedo precioso y no me pude resistir. Ahora lo he modificado un poco para mi gusto, pero aun así salió increíble. Todo lo que necesita es dos esmaltes y ya, opté por Coral Reef de Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear y #45 de Bettina.

If you want to learn how to do it check out the video, it's really simple and fun to do.  Plus, it looks sort of classy yet abstract at the same time.  I got a lot of complements on the nails and a lot of people asking me what they were (I am not an artist haha).  If you do them send me a picture on my Facebook or Twitter I'd love to see some recreations.

Beginning of Summer Haul

Slowly but surely this makeup junkie has purchased some more items during the last month and a half; and it was time to share it with you all.  Like most times it has variety but it has mostly polishes. Opps! :)

NOTD- Haze

Today's nail of the day features Bettina's Haze from the Nature collection.  I have been on the hunt for finding a dupe for Sinful Color's Beverly Hills which was limited edition and I haven't been successful until I came across Haze.  My favorite color is purple and a lilac polish is a must in my collection.

El "nail of the day" es Haze de Bettina de la colección Nature. He estado en la búsqueda de encontrar un esmalte parecido al Beverly Hills de Sinful Colors, que fue de edición limitada y que no he tenido éxito hasta que me encontré con Haze. Mi color favorito es violeta y un esmalte de color lila es una necesidad en mi colección.

I absolutely love this color! I would have to say it is my favorite, next to Beverly Hills that is, of all time!  Just like all Bettina polishes it goes on opaque with 2 coats and isn't streaky. It is a great spring/summer color and goes with pretty much anything.  It has a cream finish and dry time is decent. All Bettina polishes retail for around $2.50.

¡Me encanta este color! ¡Yo tendría que decir que es mi favorita, junto a Beverly Hills por supuesto! Al igual que todos los esmaltes de Bettina con dos capas es suficiente y no tiene una apariencia rayada. Es un esmalte ideal para primavera / verano y combina con casi cualquier cosa. Haul!

It's been awhile since I did a haul and I thought I would post some of my recent finds.  Personally I love hauls because it gives me ideas of what to buy or not to, so I'm hoping it will do the same for you.  All of these products were purchased in Walgreens and Walmart.

NOTD- Sherbert and Bedazzled

Today's NOTD features two of my latest conquests, Sherbert from Bettina's Candy collection and Bedazzled from Claire's.  Plus keep on reading because these are some dupes :D

If you can't tell I'm a sucker for any coral/orange nail polish so naturally I choose to paint my nails this beautiful color for the beginning of Spring.  Bettina is such a wonderful company who sells a wide variety of polishes for under $2.50.  Just as any other Bettina polish I own this goes on with 2 coats and lasts a good 4 days. This is a dupe for Wet n Wild Megalast Heatwave which is just a tad bit more redder.  Sherbert is more of a pinky orange.

Si todavía no se a fijado me encanta los tonos coral/naranja, entonces naturalmente opte pintarme las uñas de este color hermoso para el comienzo de la primavera. Bettina es una compañía maravillosa que vende una amplia variedad de esmaltes por menos de $2.50. Al igual que de los esmaltes Bettina que poseo con 2 capas es suficiente para que te cubra su una y dura por lo menos 4 días. Este es una alternativa de Heatwave de la línea Megalast de Wet n Wild que es un poco más rojizo. Sherbert es más un color naranja rosado.

Now for the fun part! I've been such an accent nail addict lately so naturally I wanted to pair it with a fun glitter.  I choose Bedazzled by Claire's which is such a fun multi colored glitter polish.  It has all kinds of size glitters and is very easy to apply.  What is so special about this polish is that I received this in a giveaway from the wonderful sisters from Eleventh Gorgeous.  (Check them out they are AWESOME!)

¡Ahora viene la parte divertida! He estado adicta a las uñas de acento últimamente entonces naturalmente tuve que coordinarlo con un brillo divertido. Escogí a Bedazzled de Claire's, que es un esmalte de diferentes colores de brillo divertido. Tiene diferentes tamaños de brillo y es muy fácil de aplicar. ¿Qué es tan especial acerca de este esmalte? Lo recibí en un sorteo de las hermanas de Eleventh Gorgeous. (¡Vayan y mira su canal en Youtube son super buenas!)

This is also an exact dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday.  Claire's polish retails for $5 and Deborah Lippmann's glitter polish for $18. To see a comparison check out Scrangie's swatches of both.

NOTD: I Need a Re-fresh Mint and Celebrate

It's Spring and you now I'm pulling out my pastels polishes.  I wanted to have a twist on the usual pastel blue I paired it with a gold.  I have on Wet n Wild's I Need a Re-fresh Mint and on my ring finger Bettina's Celebrate.  I Need a Re-fresh Mint is the epitome of the classic Tiffany blue.  The formula is very rich and creamy, and goes on opaque in two coats.  The gold is so beautiful, it's a gorgeous micro glitter gold that goes on so easily.

Es primavera y sabes que a empezar a sacar mis esmaltes de colores que están de moda. Yo quería hacer algo diferente en vez del típico color azul pastel, entonces lo junte con oro. Tengo puesto Wet n Wild's I Need a Re-fresh Mint y en mi dedo de anillo tengo Celebrate de Bettina.  I Need a Re-fresh Mint es el epítome del clásico azul de Tiffany. La fórmula es muy buena y cremosa y opaco con dos capas. El oro es tan hermoso, es un brillo bien pequeño aplica con tanta facilidad.

I got my hands on the new re-formulated Wet n Wild polishes and BOY did they step it up.  Not only is the brush ten million times better the color pay off is a-maz-ing.

2012 Spring Nail Polish Trends

Leave your dark colors aside because this season is all about pastels and neon's.  I picked seven polishes that I thought represented this spring to a T.

1. Wet n Wild- Heatwave (Bright coral that look great on your fingers and toes) Creme finish
2. Sinful Colors- Savage (The photo doesn't do it justice it is a neon turquoise that looks phenomenal) Matte finish
3. Sinful Colors- Pink Forever (Neon pink that screams girly girl) Creme finish
4. Sally Hansen- Three D (Mix between a coral and an orange, it has orange and gold shimmer in it as well) Shimmer finish

NOTD- Valentine Edition

This special NOTD post is obviously inspired by Valentine's Day.  Wanting to stay in the range of pinks and reds I came up with this simple cute look that is VERY easy to obtain.  I started out with a base (any will do) and then applied two coats of Bettina's “Cotton Candy”, which is a creamy baby pink polish, on all my nails.  I waited about 5 minutes for it to dry and put on both ring fingers Deborah Lippmann's "Do ya think I'm sexy", red glitter polish that has chunky hexagonal glitters.  With this polish you might want to adjust the glitters so it covers your entire nail.  Then waited 2 minutes and put on my top coat.  My favorite is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri because it literally dries in about 2 minutes.

Just as a side note Bettina polishes are the bomb! They cost about $2.50 a pop and they are very opaque. I haven't had a problem with any of them so far and I have a lot of them in my collection.
