July Favorites (2012)

Hey lovelies this month has gone by so very fast but I'm pretty sure that has to do with the fact that I've been having a blast going out with friends, spending some more time with my boyfriend, and being with my family. You may notice I have more than usually but that is because I have been going out more and well frankly have had more time to get ready.

What's in my makeup bag?

This seems like a very popular post here in the Beauty Blog world so I thought, why not hop on?  I don't carry a lot of beauty items with me daily, but I do have a couple of things that might help you.

I always have with me/ Lo que siempre tengo conmigo:

• My blotting powder which happens to be the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder/ Mi polvo con un acabado mate para no lucir luminosa, Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
• A powder brush/ una brocha para usarlo con polvo
• The lip product I choose that day and maybe an extra if I want to change it/ El producto que decido usar para ese día y uno adicionar por si acaso lo quiero cambiar

It may not be a lot of things or maybe it's a lot compared to what you may be carrying but this is the perfect amount of items for me.  Maybe I will add something else every so often but these are my essentials.

NOTD- Sky High

I must say that this is my favorite Nail of the Day because this has been my newest favorite nail polish thanks to the lovely Anna from Going to the Showing who sent me this in a nail swap.  This is Sky High by Color Club from the Take Wing Summer 2012 collection and I have to say I love everything about the polish, formula and all.

Debo decir que esta ha sido mi favorita de los "Nail of the Day" porque esto ha sido el más reciente gracias a Ana de Going to the Showing que me lo envió esto en un intercambio de esmaltes. Esto es Sky High de Color Club de la colección del verano 2012 Take Wing y tengo que decir que me encanta todo del esmalte, fórmula y todo.

See the purple in the polish?/ ¿Ves lo violeta en el esmalte?

I have to say I'm so pleased with the performance of the polish since it has a gorgeous color and payoff.  The only thing was that with your first coat it can be streaky but with the second coat everything is perfect.  It has a foil finish that in the bottle looks duo chrome (purple and turquoise) but it comes off on the nail as a dark turquoise.  This color is just so darn unique I cannot even believe I own it!  Every time I looked down at my nails I couldn't help but smile.  If you can get your hands on this one don't let go!

No puedo explicar cuan contenta con el funcionamiento del esmalte ya que tiene un color precioso y la dura mucho. Lo único es que con su la primera capa sale rayada pero con la segunda capa queda perfecto. Tiene un acabado tipo "foil" (como si fuese aluminio) que en la botella se ve dúo cromo (violeta y turquesa) pero en la uña solo parece como una turquesa oscuro. ¡Este color es tan único que ni siquiera puedo creer que lo tenga! Cada vez que veo mis uñas no puedo dejar de sonreír. ¡Si usted puede conseguirlo no lo dejes ir!

My first Nail Mail!

I cannot begin to explain how excited I am today since yesterday I received my first nail polish swap!  My first swap was with the lovely nail polish addict Anna from Going to the Showing.  I was particularly interesting in nail Movie Premier and Sky High and I let her choose the other one so it could be a surprise needless to say I really loved it!

¡No puedo empezar a explicar lo emocionada que estoy ahora ya que ayer recibí mi primer intercambio de esmalte! Mi primer intercambio fue con la bella Anna, que también es una adicta a esmaltes como yo, de Going to the Showing. Yo estaba particularmente interesante en Movie Premier y Sky High y deje que ella elegiera el otro para que fuese una sorpresa, no hace falta decir que me encantó.

I'm really excited to try all of them out since they all look so pretty and interesting.  But what I really like is that they all are polishes that I can't find here in Puerto Rico. This was really the point of the swap since Anna wanted some Bettina which you can’t find in the US unless you look really hard in Florida.  Any who I'll keep this post short since I'm going to go see Magic Mike tonight and I have to look my best for Channing Tatum!

Estoy muy emocionado para ponerme todos ellos, ya que todos se ven tan bonito e interesante. Pero lo que realmente me gusta es que todos de ellos son esmaltes que no se puede encontrar aquí en Puerto Rico. Ese  fue realmente el punto del intercambio ya Anna quería unos de Bettina, que no se puede encontrar en los EE.UU. a menos que usted busca fuertemente en la Florida. ¡Con eso dicho voy a mantener este post corto ya que voy a ir a ver a Magic Mike esta noche y tengo que ponerme linda para Channing Tatum!

Favorite Nude Lipsticks and Giveaway Winner!

Now I have a couple of nude lipsticks but overall I find that the nude/pinks suit me best and plus, I use them more often than the others so I thought I would do this post before some of them are down to the stubs.  I narrowed it down to three of my most used "nude" lipsticks which are: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 14, Estee Lauder Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Beige, and Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy 070.

Ahora tengo algunos lápices labiales que son "nude" pero en general a mi se me ven mejor los que son "nude" o rosa, además que los utilizó con mayor frecuencia que los demás.  Así que pensé que era tiempo de hacer este post antes de que algunos de ellos se hayan reducido a los talones. Lo reduje hasta tres cuales son mis más utilizados lápices labiales "nude", que son: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 14, Estee Lauder Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Beige y Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy 070.

As you can tell I like Rimmel Lipsticks a lot (their nude shades are my favorite), but I do have to say they have a scent that bothered me at the beginning, kind of like fruit loops.  My favorite has to be Airy Fairy because it has a touch of pink without looking pink, catch my drift?  Now the Estee Lauder lipstick lasts a long time and feels very moisturizing.  It is more of a tan nude that just enhances my natural lip color which I love.  I enjoy wearing these lipsticks usually with a clear or pink toned gloss over top to give it some dimension, such as NYX Mega Lip Gloss in French Kiss or any of the Victoria Secret Lip glosses.  What's your favorite nude shade?

Como pueden ver a mi me fascinan los lápices labiales de Rimmel (sus tonos "nude" son mis favoritos) pero tengo que decir que tienen un olor que me molesta al principio, casi como "fruit loops".  Mi favorito tiene que ser de Airy Fairy ya que tiene un toque de rosa sin verse como color de rosa, ¿me entiende? Ahora el lápiz labial de Estee Lauder dura mucho tiempo y se siente muy hidratante. Es más de un "nude" marrón que aumenta el color natural de mis labios que me encanta. Me gusta usar estaos tonos de lápices labiales por lo general con un "gloss" sin color o rosado ​​sobre la parte superior para darle dimensión, tales como NYX Mega Lip Gloss in French Kiss o de cualquiera de los brillos de labios de Victoria Secret. ¿Cuál es tu color favorito que sea "nude"?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- Sweetheart

I have been loving my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart (025) since it is such a bold color that transfers the same way!  Now I won't go into a lot of detail since I did an overall review about a week ago when I reviewed Cherish.  I will say this though it is such a good product that I've been reaching for these more often than the Lipbutters :O .

A mi me he estado gustando mi Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain en Sweetheart (025) ya que es un color atrevido que transfiere de la misma manera.  No voy a entrar en muchos detalles ya que hice una reseña en general la semana atrás, cuando revisé Cherish. Pero voy a decir esto, es un producto tan bueno que he estado utilizando esto más a menudo que el Lipbutters de Revlon :O.

This shade is a cool toned hot pink that really hydrates and perks up your face.

Es un tono "cool" rosa que realmente hidrata y anima su cara.

The staying power on this particular shade is awesome!  Even after rubbing it off my lips with a towel it stains my lips.  But without interfering with the product it will last about 2 hours until the balm wears off and stains for a good 5 hours.  There are a variety of colors ranging from light to dark; all in all there are 12 shades.  This retails for around $8.99 and can be purchased wherever Revlon products are sold.

El tiempo de duración en este particular es impresionante! Incluso después de que el roce de mis labios con una toalla mancho mis labios. Pero sin interferir con el producto durará aproximadamente 2 horas hasta que el bálsamo se desgasta y mancha luego de eso unas buenas 5 horas.  Hay una gran variedad de colores que van del claro a oscuro, en total hay 12 colores.  Esto tiene un costo de $8.99 y se pueden comprar en las tiendas donde los productos de Revlon se venden.

NOTD- Ocean and Luxe and Lush

Today's Nail of the Day features Ocean by Bettina from their Nature collection and Luxe and Lush by China Glaze from their Hunger Games collection.  Ocean has been one of my favorite blues lately and I'm pretty sure it's because it's more of a summer color so I wanted to rock it but with a twist.  The best part about this mani is that Luxe and Lush only cost me $3.29!

El "Nail of the Day" es Ocean de Bettina de su colección Nature y Luxe y Lush de China Glaze de su colección de Hunger Games. Ocean ha sido uno de mis azules favoritos últimamente y estoy bastante segura de que es porque es un color de verano así que quería ponérmelo pero con un toque diferente. ¡La mejor parte acerca de esta mani es que Luxe y Lush sólo me costó $3.29!

Just like all Bettina polishes it goes on opaque with 2 coats and isn't streaky at all. Now Luxe and Lush has to be my new favorite accent polish since it can spice any polish up. It has a cream finish and dry time is decent. Now you can't really tell so much in the pictures but check out Nail Polish Anon, she really captured the different shades.  It really all depends on the color base you use.  Example, if you use a black you will get a variety of different colors such as blue, green, and even red, but on softer colors the color range will be much subtle. All Bettina polishes retail for around $2.50 and China Glaze for around $6.49.

Al igual que todos los esmaltes de Bettina con dos capas es suficiente y no tiene una apariencia rayada. Tiene un acabado en crema y el tiempo de secado es decente.  Ahora Luxe y Lush tiene que ser mi esmalte de utilizo como acento nueva favorita ya que puede darle vida a cualquier esmalte. Ahora realmente no se puede apreciar mucho en las fotos pero echa un vistazo a Nail Polish Anon, que realmente capturó a los diferentes tonos. En realidad, todo depende de la base de color que utiliza. Ejemplo, si usted utiliza un negro obtendrá una variedad de diferentes colores como azul, verde e incluso rojo, pero en colores más suaves de la gama de colores va a ser mucho más sutil. Todos esmaltes Bettina cuestan alrededor de $2.50 y China Glaze por alrededor de $6.49.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

When it comes to foundation I am very picky; well who isn't?  I have combination/oily skin so I need a foundation that doesn't leave a luminous finish and doesn't hydrate.  I also like my foundation to be medium coverage maybe even a tad full.  With that said my favorite foundation is Revlon's Colorstay (review coming soon) but a close runner up is Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation.

Cuando se trata de base yo soy muy exigente, ¿quien no? Mi piel es combinación/grasa, así que necesitan una base que no deja un acabado luminoso y no hidrata. También me gusta mi fundación para una cobertura media tal vez incluso un poco lleno. Con esto dicho mi fundación favorita es Colorstay de Revlon (revisión en breve), pero un corredor de cerca es Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation.

I really love this foundation since it is medium/full coverage and what I really love is that it leaves a matte finish but isn't totally flat.  It covers my scars wonderfully and evens out my complexion.  It lasts all day for me and I live in the Caribbean where the heat is very present.  Now I've never wore any foundation for 25 hours, so I can't vow for that.  It goes on flawlessly and it doesn't oxidize on me either.  I've applied this with my fingers and its looks beautiful, but my favorite way to apply it is with my Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki brush (F80) from Sigma.  It does have a scent that bothered me at first but after having worn it for awhile I got over it.  It retails for around $7.49 wherever Rimmel is sold.

Me encanta esta base ya que tiene cobertura media/completa y lo que realmente me encanta es que deja un acabado mate, pero no plana. Cubre mis cicatrices maravillosamente e iguala mi cutis. Dura todo el día para mí y yo vivo en el Caribe, donde el calor está muy presente. Ahora nunca he tenido puesta ninguna base por 25 horas así que no puedo decir si es cierto. La aplicación es perfecta y no se oxida en mí tampoco. Lo he aplicado con mis dedos y se ve  hermosa pero mi forma favorita de aplicarla es con mi Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki brush (F80) de Sigma. Tiene un olor que me molestó al principio pero después de haberlo tenido puesto por un tiempo lo superé. Se vende por alrededor de $7.49 en todos los lugares donde se encuentra Rimmel.

Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte

Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte (22Q) has been one of my favorite eye shadow palettes lately since it is the perfect quad for the daytime and nighttime.  I've heard lots of YouTube guru’s rave of this and so I just had to try it.

Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad en Chai Latte (22Q) ha sido una de mis paletas de sombras favoritas últimamente ya que es el quad perfecto para el día y la noche. He oído un montón de cosas buenas sobre esto de las gurús de YouTube y por lo tanto tenía que intentarlo.

1. Base is a pretty creamy ivory color
2. Lid is the star of the quad; it's a gorgeous bronze color
3. Crease has been my go to crease color; perfect soft taupe/brown
4. Liner gorgeous dark chocolate brown with some bronze shimmer that you can hardly see once on the eye

1. Base es un color marfil muy cremosa
2. Pálpado es el protagonista del quad; es un hermoso color bronce
3. Cuenca ha sido mi color favorito para mi cuenca; marrón/taupe suave y perfecta

I usual just use the base color for the all over lid shade and highlight and use the crease color in the crease for my daytime look.  For the nighttime I usually go for what you see above where I incorporate all the colors.  I like the palette since it is labeled for you so it is dummy proof, but I like to be creative and use the shades for different areas.  For example, I use the liner shade for the crease to deepen it up a bit and I will bring the shades underneath my bottom lash as well.  It has a mix of matte and shimmer shades which is great because it evens everything out. It retails for around $6.29 wherever Maybelline is sold.

Yo usualmente utilizo sólo el tono base y lo coloco sobre todo el pálpado y uso el tono de la cuenca para eso mismo para el uso diario. Por la noche usualmente tengo puesto el look que vio anteriormente donde incorporo todos los tonos. Me gusta la paleta ya que está etiquetado para usted lo que lo hace sumamente fácil de usar pero me gusta ser creativa y usar los tonos para áreas diferentes. Por ejemplo, yo uso el tono del delineador para la cuenca para que sea un poco más oscuro y también uso los colores debajo de mis pestañas inferiores. Tiene una mezcla de tonos mate y brillo que es magnifico porque hay un balance. Se vende por alrededor de $6.29 en todos los lugares donde se encuentra Maybelline.

FOTD- Movie Time

Today's Face of the Day is a look I wear very often since it's so easy to do and still looks good for when you go out at night.  Since I didn't have a lot of time to get ready I went for my to go to look and added a bright pink lip to spice it up.  BTW I was going to watch the movie Ted, which was so and so for me.

El "Face of the Day"  es un look que me utilizo muy a menudo ya que es muy fácil de hacer pero a la misma vez se ve bien para cuando salgas por la noche. Como yo no tenía mucho tiempo para poder prepararme me maquille con este look y me puse una rosa brillante en los labios que le añade un toque de color. Por cierto que yo iba a ver la película de Ted que no esta mas o menos.

I did the mix of the Garnier Frutis B.B. Cream (Light/Medium) and Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in True Nude (303) to give my skin a luminous glow without having to use highlighter.  Also my bottom lashes have the darkest brown and the bronze from the Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte, with a little of Sin in the inner corners of my eye.

Hice la mezcla de la Garnier Frutis B.B. Cream (Light/Medium) y Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation en True Nude (303) para darle a mi piel un brillo luminoso sin la necesidad de utilizar "highlighter". Abajo de mis pestañas inferiores tengo el marrón más oscuro y el bronce de la sombra de ojos  Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte con un poco de Sin en las esquinas internas de mi ojo.
