Favorite Brushes!

I am super excited to finally be doing this post on my favorite brushes since I have gotten a lot of messages of people asking me to do this, so here it is!  One thing a person should invest in is a good set of brushes, because they will last forever and give you continuous great application.

 This is the Sigma F80 (Large contour) brush and is by far the best blush I have tried hands down!  Since it is angled it hugs your cheeks and gives a beautiful blush application.

 If you have been reading my blog you will know that this is my all time favorite way to apply my foundation because it gives your skin such an airbrushed finish. It's the Sigma F80 (Flat Kabuki) brush.

This is the Sigma F30 (Large Powder) which is one of the softest powder brushes I've used, plus it's big.  I like to use this for setting my foundation.

 Ok this is by far my best investment as far as eye brushes go, the Sigma E40 (Tapered Blending).  I don't know how I was applying my makeup before this, it really helps to blend and concentrate the color on the outer v.

I was looking for a good pencil brush for ages but I couldn't find one really anywhere so when I got my Mr. Bunny set I was really happy to get the Sigma E30 (pencil) brush.  It works great to blend eyeliner and to put color onto the bottom lashes.

Not all brushes have to be high end! This was one of my first purchases and it still to this day is one of my favorite shading brush.  It's the E.L.F. Professional Defining Eye Brush and can be purchased at Kmart or on their website.

As you can see I really like Sigma brushes, because their quality is really good and they last forever. I really like their kits as well because they save you money and have all the essential brushes as you really need.  I also really like E.L.F. brushes because of the price and the accessibility.

Haul!

It's been awhile since I did a haul and I thought I would post some of my recent finds.  Personally I love hauls because it gives me ideas of what to buy or not to, so I'm hoping it will do the same for you.  All of these products were purchased in Walgreens and Walmart.

Coral Lips

Coral lips have been something I have been rocking the past couple of weeks and is always a good lip option.  I bought Maybelline's Coral Crush and Revlon's Super Lustrous lipgloss in Coral Reef and instantly thought that they would look perfect together.

You can find both of these items at any drugstore that sells Revlon and Maybelline for under $12 (for both of them).  What I really like about both of these together is that it lasts a long time since the lipgloss alone is formulated to last longer than usual.  If you are interested in rocking the coral lip trend, this is a great option.

NOTD- Coral Reef and Green with Envy

Spring time has arrived and that means that you want to start wearing bright colors.  While I was wandering the aisles of Walgreens, I came across the 2 for $4.00 sale on the Sally Hansen Xtreme wear nail polishes and decided to get Coral Reef and Green with Envy. I also decided to wear them together after seeing the Eleventh Gorgeous video, which I thought was a really cool idea.

La primavera ha llegado y eso significa que debes de empezar a usar colores brillantes. Mientras caminaba por Walgreens me encontré una venta de los esmaltes Sally Hansen de su línea Xtreme Wear cuales estaban a 2 por $ 4.00 y decidí comprar Coral Reef y Green with Envy. También decidí usarlos juntos después de ver el vídeo de Eleventh Gorgeous, que me pareció como una idea genial.

The colors are beautiful and the formula as well.  I didn't have a problem with any of them, not even chipping.  They also apply well with two coats.

OOTD- Fun and Sweet

For Easter I wanted to wear a fun and cute dress that embodied the spring feeling.  I decided on this dress from Valija Gitana and paired it with my Idore flats from Novus, my Relic watch, and two bracelets made by my wonderful aunt.

I love this dress OH SO MUCH!  It is very spring inspired and sweet.  The pattern is lovely and the quality of great.  It is also very comfortable and I love the cut in the front and the exposure in the back.  I did have to pin the front since I am lacking in the front but it should fit perfectly for others.

EOS Shave Cream

I have a couple of the EOS (Evolution of Smooth) products and I really love them, especially their lip balms, so I thought I would give their shaving cream a go.  Now this isn't your ordinary shaving cream because well it is literally a cream, not the foam that we're used to.  It goes on like a cream/lotion and it doesn't lather up.  At first I was sceptical since I was so used to the gel format and I wasn't seeing any foam that it wasn't going to be moisturizing.  I actually like this a lot since it is in a cream form it is really moisturizing and leaves my legs super smooth.  The scent I have is Pomegranate Rasberry which smells amazing! It's very fruity and sweet.

Tengo unos cuantos productos de la compania EOS (Evolution of Smooth) los cuales me encantan, sobre todo sus "lip balms".  Entonces pensé que le daría la a crema de afeitar una oportunidad. Ahora bien, este no es tu crema de afeitar ordinaria, porque literalmente es una crema, no la espuma que estamos acostumbrados a ver. Cuando la aplicas vas a ver que sale como una crema / loción y no hace espuma. Al principio yo estaba escéptica ya que estaba tan acostumbrada al formato gel y no veía la espuma como hidratante. En realidad me gusta mucho ya que es en forma de crema y realmente hidrata y deja las piernas super suave. ¡El olor que tengo es Pomegranate Rasberry que huele increíble!  Tiene un aroma dulce y a frutas.

One thing I really like about the product is the packaging. It's really convenient to have the pump and the bottle is ergonomic. It claims that you can use this wet or dry but I only shave in the shower so I can't really say if it works or not. It is paraben-free and phthalate-free and has natural aloe, oat, shea butter, and antioxidant vitamins E & C. It also comes in Lavender Jasmine, Vanilla Bliss, and Sensitive-fragrance free. It retails for around $3.99 at drugstores.

Una cosa que realmente me gusta sobre el producto es el envase. Es realmente conveniente tener la bomba y la botella es ergonómica. Reclama que se puede utilizar mojado o seco pero yo sólo me afeito en la ducha así que no puedo decir si funciona o no sin agua. No tiene parabenos ni ftalato y cuenta con aloe natural, avena, manteca de karité y vitaminas antioxidantes E y C. También viene en Lavender Jasmine, Vanilla Bliss y sensibles a las fragancias libre. Se vende por alrededor de $3.99 en las farmacias.

Rimmel Fix & Perfect

I've been looking for a face primer for awhile to help my makeup last longer since I have combination/oily skin and tend to get oily throughout the day.  Now there are a lot of primers out on the market, mostly high ends ones, but lately the drugstores have been developing some such as L'oreal, Palladio, Revlon, Hard Candy, and Rimmel.  I did my research and decided on giving Rimmels Fix & Perfect and shot.

He estado buscando un primer para la cara para ayudar que mi maquillaje dure más tiempo ya que tengo piel combinación / grasosa y tiende soltar grasa durante el día. Ahora hay una gran cantidad de primers para la cara en el mercado, sobre todo hay mas "high end", pero últimamente las tiendas como Walgreens, Walmart entre otros han desarrollado algunas como las marcas L'oreal, Palladio,Revlon, Hard Candy y Rimmel. Hice mi investigación y decidí darle una oportunidad al Rimmels Fix & Perfect.

 What's a face primer?  A face primer is a product that helps your makeup last longer throughout the day.  It is especially useful for people who have combo to oily skin because it helps provide a "barrier" so that there isn't so much excess oil. They also claim to help minimize pores.  They have a really good silky consistency to them as well, most feel like it turns into powder after you apply it.

¿Qué es un primer de cara? Un primer de cara es un producto que ayuda que su maquillaje dure más tiempo durante el día. Es especialmente útil para personas que tienen piel combinación y/o piel aceitosa, ya que actúa como una "barrera" para que no haya tanto exceso de grasa. Ellos también reclaman que ayuda a minimizar los poros. Tienen una consistencia sedosa muy buena, la mayoría de los primers se siente que se convierte en polvo después de la aplicación.

Personally I think this is a great drugstore option for a face primer.  It feels wonderful on the skin and I can tell it makes my foundation last longer.  That being said I don't see any difference in the size of my pores.  It comes out as a peachy/skin tone color but goes on colorless on your skin. Overall I would recommend this to someone who wants to prolong their makeup and help with excess oil.

Personalmente creo que esta es una opción ideal de costo bajo para un primer de cara. Se siente maravilloso en la piel y puedo decir que si veo que mi base dura mas tiempo de lo normal. Ahora bien, no veo ninguna diferencia en el tamaño de mis poros. Salen de el empaque como un tono de color melocotón / piel, pero después de la aplicación no se nota color en su piel. En general, recomendaría esto a alguien que quiere prolongar su maquillaje y evitar el exceso de aceite.

How to apply False Lashes

Love the look of full lashes but aren't satisfied with your own? Have you thought about applying false lashes but don't know how to?  I've struggled with the same things before I really got into the beauty world.  I thought it would be a good idea to show and give some tips on how to apply false lashes in a quick and easy manner.  Now it may be a but over whelming or just uncomfortable at first, but trust me you will get use to them after a couple of uses.  Now before you do anything you want to curl and apply mascara to your own lashes.

¿Te encanta pestañas grandes, pero no está satisfecho con las suyas? ¿Ha pensado en aplicarte pestañas postizas, pero no saben cómo? He luchado con las mismas cosas antes de que realmente entre en el mundo de la belleza. Pensé que sería una buena idea mostrarles y darles algunos consejos sobre cómo aplicar las pestañas postizas de una manera rápida y fácil. Ahora bien, puede ser abrumador o simplemente incómodo al principio, pero confía en mí que después de haberlo usadas un par de usos ni lo vas a sentir. Ahora, antes de hacer cualquier cosa tienes que rizar y aplicar el mascara a sus propias pestañas.

First step: Place the false lash on top of your lashes to see how they fit your eye shape and how much you need to cut off.

 Primer paso: Coloque la pestaña postiza en la parte superior de sus pestañas para ver cómo se ajustan a su forma de ojo y la cantidad que necesita para cortar.

Step two: Trim the lashes to your eye shape.  Always cut off the outer corner part off.

Step three:  Bend the false lashes inwards so they will curve to your eye shape easier.

Step four: Apply a thin coat of glue (my personal favorite is the Duo Lash Adhesive in black) to the strip making sure to get a little more on the ends are where it is more likely to lift of of the skin.  Wait 30 seconds to a minute so the glue gets tacky.

Step five: Apply the false lash on your lash line, try and put place it in the middle first and then work with the edges.  It may be easier with tweesers.  It may take you a couple tries to get it right so don't give up.  Then curl and apply mascara to blend your lashes with the false ones.  Optional: Apply some liner just in case you can still see some lash glue.

Paso cinco: Aplicar la pestana postiza en su línea de las pestañas, primero tratando de colocarla en la mitad y luego trabajar con los bordes. La aplicación puede ser más fácil con pinzas. Puede ser que le tome un par de intentos antes de hacerlo bien para que no se dé por vencido.  Luego rizar y aplicar mascara a sus pestañas para que se mezclan con las postizas. Beauty Sponge

This is the Beauty Sponge from London Soho New York.  What's a beauty sponge? It is basically a large makeup sponge that allows you to target hard to reach areas, such as under the eye and around the nose.  It also allows you to really blend in your foundation and give you a flawless look.  For about a year there has been a craze over the Beauty Blender, which is the original version but it retails for $20.  Now I am all for beauty products but why pay more for something that there is a more affordable option that has just as good reviews?

Esta es la Beauty Sponge de London Soho New York.  ¿Qué es una esponja de belleza? Se trata básicamente de una esponja de maquillaje más grande de lo normal que le permite llegar a áreas que usualmente son difíciles de llegar como debajo de los ojos y alrededor de la nariz. También permite difuminar su fundación y le dará un aspecto impecable. Aproximadamente hace un año ha habido una locura sobre el Beauty Blender, que es la versión original, pero cuesta $20. Very sturdy and flexible and feels great on the skin.

How it works:

• You soak the sponge in warm water and squeeze the excess out.
• Apply to the back of your hand your foundation and dab the sponge with some.
• Apply your foundation like you normally would and also using patting motions.
• After use clean it using antibacterial soap or facial soap and let it air dry.

Como funciona:

• Llenar la esponja con agua tibia y exprimir el exceso.
• Aplicar en el dorso de la mano su base y aplique el esponja con un poco de la base.
• Aplique su base como lo haría normalmente y también con movimientos palmaditas.
• Después del uso limpiar con jabón antibacterial o un jabón facial y dejar secar al aire.

FOTD- Red Lippies

This past Saturday was my grandparents (on my dad's side) 59th anniversary so we decided to have a nice get together and celebrate it.  I wanted to go with a classic look that was appropriate for night time as well, so I decided on a pin up inspired look.  I went with a classic red lip, neutral eyes, and a winged liner.

NOTD- Pink Forever

Current pink nail polish obsession! I received this polish for my birthday from a family friend and the first thing that came to mind was Barbie.  This is Sinful Colors Pink Forever, the perfect girly pink.  It is a creme finish and goes on opaque with 1-2 coats.  After applying it didn't scream Barbie but more of a true pink that is perfect for spring and summer.  It's part of their permanent line as well so it should be easy to find.

¡Esto es actualmente mi obsesión! Recibí este esmalte para mi cumpleaños de una amiga de la familia y lo primero que me vino a la mente fue Barbie. Esto es Pink Forever de Sinful Colors y es un color bien femenino. Es un acabado crema y es opaco con 1-2 capas. Después de que lo aplique no se me parecía el color de Barbie, pero más de una rosa verdadera que es perfecto para la primavera y el verano.  Es parte de su línea permanente así que debe ser fácil de encontrar.

Mascara Favorites

Thank you to all who voted on the poll I had last month on my blog. The question was: If you could only have one product what would it be?  It was a close call between mascara, concealer, and lipstick/lip balm/lip gloss, but over all mascara won.  This inspired me to do my mascara favorites!

Gracias a todos los que votaron en la encuesta que tenía el mes pasado en mi blog. La pregunta era: ¿Si sólo pudiera tener un producto cual que sería?  Los resultados estaban bien cerca entre el mascara, corrector, lápiz  labial / lip balm / brillo de labios, pero ganó sobre todo el mascara. ¡ ¡Esto me inspiró a hacer una entrada de mis mascaras favoritas!

 

L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black has been my go to mascara.  It gives your lashes good length and volume.  Plus it's extra black and doesn't flake.

Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes! Is freakin awesome!!!! It is super lengthening and separates your lashes like no other.  When I want a really full set of lashes for a night out I pair this with my L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black.

Maybelline Illegal Length is one of my most recent mascaras and has quickly made its way to the top of my list.  Now by accident I got the water proof one but I still really like the formula and it comes of without a hassle with makeup remover.  This is one of the fiber mascaras that adds extra little fibers to the tip of your lashes.  It separates lashes very well and obviously adds length.

Sin querer cogí la de prueba de agua, pero todavía me gusta mucho la fórmula y se remueve sin molestia con removedor de maquillaje. Esta es una de las máscaras de fibra que añade fibras extra pequeñas en la punta de tus pestañas. Separa las pestañas muy bien y obviamente añade longitud.

Maybelline Define-A-Lash was aways a must when I was in high school.  It's so quick and easy and looks really natural.  It does was it claims, which is it defines your lashes.  I usually don't like rubber wands but this is the exception since it separates with ease.  I also have the water proof version as well.

DIY Oatmeal Mask

One of my readers and friends Wilniady sent me this wonderful homemade oatmeal mask recipe which is ideal for all skin types.  This helps with acne, treats mild irritations, opens the pores so dirt can be removed, and even helps soothe sunburn.  I also changed the recipe that I received a bit.

Una de mis lectores y amigas Wilniady me ha enviado esta maravillosa receta casera cual es una mascara de avena y es ideal para todo tipo de piel. Esto ayuda con el acné, puede tratar irritaciones leves, abre los poros para que la suciedad se pueda remover e incluso ayuda las quemaduras solares. También cambie la receta que he recibido un poco.

Ingredients (ingredientes):

1. Water (Agua)
2. Plain Oatmeal (Avena)
3. Small mixing bowl (Recipiente pequeño para mezclar)

Instructions (Instrucciones):

1. Add 2 tablespoons of Oatmeal to the bowl. (Añadir 2 cucharadas de avena al recipiente.)
2. Add 3 tablespoons of water to the bowl. (Añadir 3 cucharadas de agua al recipiente.)
3. Mix the ingredients together until you have a liquid paste. (Mezclar los ingredientes hasta obtener una pasta líquida.)
4. Apply a generous amount to your face. (Aplicar una cantidad generosa de a tu cara.)
5. Wait 15 minutes or until it's dry. (Espere 15 minutos o hasta que se seque.)
6. Rinse with cold water. (Enjuague con agua fría.)

If you have dry skin you can substitute the water for milk so it nourishes it better.  you can repeat the mask once to twice a week for optimal results.

Sitienes la piel seca puedes sustituir el agua por leche lo que la nutre mejor. Puedesrepetir la mascara una o dos veces a la semana para obtener resultados óptimos.
