2012 Fall Nail Polish Trends

Fall is creeping upon us soon and it's time for my 2012 Fall Nail Polish Trends post!  Fall is usually characterized by dark colors that are unique in their own way. I went with the same idea but added some fun colors that still have the fall "vibe".

Otoño se esta acercando pronto y es tiempo para el 2012 Fall Nail Polish Trends! Otoño se caracteriza generalmente por los colores oscuros los cuales son únicos. Mantuve esa idea en mente cuando estaba escogiendo cuales seria ideal para este post pero siempre añadí algunos colores divertidos que aún mantienen el "vibe" de otoño.

1. China Glaze- Harvest Moon (this color is AMAZING!!! Looks great on the nails and really embodies fall for me) Foil Finish
2. Bettina- 28 (This was one of my first polishes from Bettina and I still love it.  This is a duochrome polish so it has two different colors: a beautiful shimmery purple and a subtle bronze.)  Shimmer Finish
3. O.P.I- Midnight in Moscow (This is a dark maroon color that is very vampy) Shimmer Finish

1. China Glaze- Harvest Moon (este color es increíble! Se ve muy bien en las uñas y en realidad representa otoño para mí) Acabado Metálico
2. Bettina- 28 (Este fue uno de mis primeros esmaltes de Bettina y aun me sigue encantando. Este es un esmalte duocromo por lo que tiene dos colores diferentes: un hermoso color púrpura con brillo sutil y bronce) Acabado brillo
3. O.P.I- Midnight in Moscow (Este es un color burdeos oscuro que es muy "vampy") Acabado Brillo

1. Essie- Bobbing for Bubbles (Dark navy/gray, LOVE LOVE LOVE) Creme Finish
2. O.P.I.- I Have a Herring Problem (gorgeous blue with gray undertones that contains the finniest silver particles) Creme/Shimmer Finish
3. Rimmel- Steel Grey (Grey/ brown color that makes me feel very cozy) Creme Finish

NOTD- Harvest Moon

Today's nail of the day features Harvest Moon by China Glaze from their Hunger Games collection. Ever since I heard about the collection coming out I had always wanted to try some of them out since Hunger Games is one of my favorite book series (after Harry Potter) but I just never got to buying one.  I finally stumbled on this one when I went to Sally's Beauty Supply and saw them on sale for $3.28!  Harvest Moon represents District 9- Grain.

El "nail of the day" es Harvest Moon de China Glaze de su colección de los Hunger Games (represente al Districto 9- Grano). Desde que me enteré que iban a sacar la colección los quería probar ya que Hunger Games es una de mis series de libros favoritos (después de Harry Potter) pero nunca llegue a comprar uno. Finalmente me encontré con éste cuando fuí a Sally's Beauty Supply los vi a la venta por ¡$3.28! 

Harvest Moon is a GORGEOUS copper/bronze color with a metallic (maybe even foil) finish. The highlights of the polish are that it isn't streaky, application is wonderful since it goes on very smoothly, and with 2 coats it's very opaque.  Since it is has a metallic finish it tends to chip off faster, but this one held up pretty good.  The only this I dislike is that it tends to leave a bumpy finish after a while; as you might see in the last picture.  I thought maybe it was my topcoat so I used a different one but the same problem occurred.  It retails for around $6.99 anywhere China Glaze is sold, unless you can find it on sale like I did ;)

Harvest Moon es un color cobre/broonce PRECIOSO con un acabado metálico (tal vez hasta puede ser un "foil"). Lo bueno del esmalte es que no es rayada, la aplicación es una maravilla y con 2 capas es muy opaca. Dado que tiene un acabado metálico tiende a descascararse más rápido pero éste se mantuvo bastante buen. Lo único que no me gusto es que tiende a dejar un acabado lleno de burbujas después de un tiempo, como se puede ver en la imagen anterior. Pensé que tal vez era el "topcoat" pero intente con otro pero se produjo el mismo problema.  Se vende por alrededor de $6.99 en cual quier lugar donde venden productos de China Glaze, a menos que lo encuentra a la vente ;)

NOTD- Ocean and Luxe and Lush

Today's Nail of the Day features Ocean by Bettina from their Nature collection and Luxe and Lush by China Glaze from their Hunger Games collection.  Ocean has been one of my favorite blues lately and I'm pretty sure it's because it's more of a summer color so I wanted to rock it but with a twist.  The best part about this mani is that Luxe and Lush only cost me $3.29!

El "Nail of the Day" es Ocean de Bettina de su colección Nature y Luxe y Lush de China Glaze de su colección de Hunger Games. Ocean ha sido uno de mis azules favoritos últimamente y estoy bastante segura de que es porque es un color de verano así que quería ponérmelo pero con un toque diferente. ¡La mejor parte acerca de esta mani es que Luxe y Lush sólo me costó $3.29!

I just love how this polish changes color in different light/ Me encanta cómo este esmalte cambia en luces diferentes

Just like all Bettina polishes it goes on opaque with 2 coats and isn't streaky at all. Now Luxe and Lush has to be my new favorite accent polish since it can spice any polish up. It has a cream finish and dry time is decent. Now you can't really tell so much in the pictures but check out Nail Polish Anon, she really captured the different shades.  It really all depends on the color base you use.  Example, if you use a black you will get a variety of different colors such as blue, green, and even red, but on softer colors the color range will be much subtle. All Bettina polishes retail for around $2.50 and China Glaze for around $6.49.

Al igual que todos los esmaltes de Bettina con dos capas es suficiente y no tiene una apariencia rayada. Tiene un acabado en crema y el tiempo de secado es decente.  Ahora Luxe y Lush tiene que ser mi esmalte de utilizo como acento nueva favorita ya que puede darle vida a cualquier esmalte. Ahora realmente no se puede apreciar mucho en las fotos pero echa un vistazo a Nail Polish Anon, que realmente capturó a los diferentes tonos. En realidad, todo depende de la base de color que utiliza. Ejemplo, si usted utiliza un negro obtendrá una variedad de diferentes colores como azul, verde e incluso rojo, pero en colores más suaves de la gama de colores va a ser mucho más sutil. Todos esmaltes Bettina cuestan alrededor de $2.50 y China Glaze por alrededor de $6.49.

June Favorites (2012)

This month has been way more peaceful than last month since I finished my second year of college and now I'm just taking a summer class to get ahead.  Now with that being said it is SOOOOOO HOT (living in Puerto Rico what can you expect), it's been reaching 100 degrees almost everyday where I live.  So you know I haven't been wearing a lot of products thi summer.

Este mes ha sido mucho más tranquilo desde el mes pasado que fue cuando terminé mi segundo año de universidad y ahora estoy tomando un curso de verano para adelantar. Ahora, con eso dicho hace MUCHO CALOR taaaan HOT (viviendo en Puerto Rico que se puede esperar), a estado llegando a los 100 grados casi todos los días en donde vivo.  Así que ya sabes que no he estado usando una gran cantidad de productos este mes.
